New paper on the E-VRP-NL @ TRB

Ph.D. summer school @ Gardanne (FR)

e-VRO sponsors a Ph.D. summer school on transportation and logistics that will take place  on May 23 and 24 in Gardanne (southern France). The school will bring together Ph.D. students from all over the country who will attend lectures on topics ranging from network design to vehicle routing. EV energy consumption calculator V.0.1 released

We just released the 0.1 version of our electric vehicle energy consumption calculator. The application builds the energy consumption matrix for electric vehicle routing problems using actual road-network information (distances, speeds, slopes, etc.). The calculator was developed by Timothy Nibeaudeau, Théo Menard, Théo Gilbert, and Mathieu Archat (computer science students at Polytech Tours). You can download the project from our git.

Laura Echeverri joins e-VRO

Laura Catalina Echeverri joins e-VRO as a Ph.D. Student. Laura holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, Colombia). Laura’s dissertation will focus on multiperiod electric vehicle routing problems. She will work under the supervision of e-VRO’s Emmanuel Néron and Jorge E. Mendoza. Welcome aboard Laura!

Aurélien Froger joins e-VRO

Aurélien Froger joints e-VRO as a post-doctoral fellow. Aurélien recently finished his Ph.D. at the Institute of Applied Mathematics (Angers, France) and CIRRELT (Montréal, Canada). His dissertation topic focused on a maintenance scheduling problem raising in the onshore wind industry. Now in e-VRO he will continue working on operations research applications for sustainable development. Aurélien will be looking into electric vehicle routing problems with capacitated charging stations and charging station scheduling problems.

A. Montoya’s Ph.D. defense

e-VRO’s Alejandro Montoya is defending his Ph.D. thesis titled “Electric vehicle routing problems: models and solution approaches”on December 9, 2016. The jury is composed by Professors Daniele Vigo (Univ. Bologne) and Dominique Feillet (Mines Saint-Etienne) who reviewed the manuscript and will evaluate the oral presentation; Prof. Emannuel Néron (Polytech Tours) and Dr. Fabien Leuhédé (Mines Nantes) who will evaluate the oral presentation; and e-VRO members Pr. Christelle Guéret (Univ. Angers), Dr. Jorge E. Mendoza (Polytech Tours), and Dr. Juan G. Villegas (Univ. Antioquia) who co-advied Alejandro during the last 3 years. The defense will take place at 10:00 am in room “Amphi E” at ISTIA (62, avenue Notre-Dame du Lac 49000 Angers, France). We wish Alejandro the best of lucks.
