Pr. Pascal Van Hentenryck will visit Polytech Tours from June 16 to 22. He will give an invited talk at the Matheuristics Workshop organized by the operations research, scheduling, and transportation team and work with e-VRO’s Nick Kullman, Aurélien Froger, Laura Echeverri, and Jorge E. Mendoza on topics related to the project. We are delighted Pr. Han Hentenryck accepted our invitation and are looking forward to his visit.
The 2018 ODYSSEUS conference starts Sunday in Cagliari (Italy). e-VRO will contribute three tacks to the high-level scientific program. Nick Kullman will present his research on dynamic routing for electric vehicles. His talk is scheduled Wednesday morning (9a.m.) in the Green Room. Aurélien Froger will discuss his impressive results on the electric vehicle routing problem with non-linear charging function (E-VRP-NL) and will present the latest version of his approach for the E-VRP-NL with capacitated charging stations. Jorge E. Mendoza will present the final results of our collaboration with EDF-R&D on the technician routing and scheduling problem with conventional and electric vehicles. The two last talk are scheduled on Wednesday Morning (9a.m. and 10.am) in the White Room. If you are attending the conference, do not miss these talks! You can download the book of extended abstracts here.
Samuel Pelletier (HEC – Montréal) will visit Polytech Tours from 12/02/2018 to 20/02/2018. Samuel is a senior-year Ph.D. student at HEC – Montréal, working under the supervision of Professors Gilbert Laporte and Ola Jabali. During his visit, Samuel and e-VRO members will have the opportunity to discuss the state of the research on the field of electric vehicle routing and explore avenues for collaboration. Taking advantage of his visit, e-VRO has organised a research seminar on February 14 (find details here). If you happen to be around Tours that day, do not miss his talk. Welcome Samuel!
e-VRO’s Jorge E. Mendoza and our friends Jakob Puchinger and Ammar Oularama are putting together a special session on E-VRPs for ROADEF 2018. The conference will be held in Lorient (Brittany, France) on Fev. 21-23. You can find more information about the special session here. Submissions are in the form of 2-page extended abstract. You can submit your contribution to the session here.
e-VRO’s Aurélien Froger will give a talk about dealing with capacitated charging stations on e-VRPs at the 2017 VeRoLog conference in Amsterdam. The talk is scheduled for Tuesday 11/07 in the 12h00 session (room 02A24). Don’t miss this interesting talk if you’re attending the conference. You can check out the abstract here.
e-VRO and the Colombian Operations Research Society (ASOCIO for its acronym in Spanish) join efforts to bring a tutorial on electric vehicle routing (EVR) to the society’s bi-annual congress. The tutorial will be presented by e-VRO’s Jorge E. Mendoza. It will introduce the audience with the state of the art in EVR and outline perspectives in the field. The congress is organised by EAFIT in beautiful and innovative city of Medellín. Registration to the congress is still open. Don’t miss it!
e-VRO’s Jorge E. Mendoza will give an invited seminar on electric vehicle routing problems with non-linear charging functions at Politecnico di Milano‘s Department of Electrics, Computer Science, and Bio-engineering (DEIB for its acronym in Italian). The seminar will take on June 14, 2017 at 11h00 in DEIB’s room PT1. The abstract and contact information can be found here.
e-VRO will hold its 2017 annual seminar on May 12. In this annual rendez vous members of the project get together to present and discuss their e-VRO research. Here is the program for this year’s edition:
- 15h00-15h30 e-VRO: annual report (J.E. Mendoza, project coordinator)
- 15h30-16h00 “The electric vehicle routing problem with nonlinear charging function and capacitated charging stations” (A. Froger)
- 16h00-16h30 Coffee break
- 16h30-17h00 “Electric vehicle routing with uncertain charging station availability & dynamic decision making” (N. Kullman)
- 17h00-17h30 “The multi-period electric vehicle routing problem” (L. Echeverri)
The seminar will take place in Room 101 at the department of Computer Science of Polytech Tours. If you want to attend the event, please send an email to anr[dot]evro[at]gmail[dot]com.
e-VRO sponsors a Ph.D. summer school on transportation and logistics that will take place on May 23 and 24 in Gardanne (southern France). The school will bring together Ph.D. students from all over the country who will attend lectures on topics ranging from network design to vehicle routing. The second day will be entirely devoted to sustainable logistics. Find out more about the program and register to the school here.
e-VRO’s Alejandro Montoya is defending his Ph.D. thesis titled “Electric vehicle routing problems: models and solution approaches”on December 9, 2016. The jury is composed by Professors Daniele Vigo (Univ. Bologne) and Dominique Feillet (Mines Saint-Etienne) who reviewed the manuscript and will evaluate the oral presentation; Prof. Emannuel Néron (Polytech Tours) and Dr. Fabien Leuhédé (Mines Nantes) who will evaluate the oral presentation; and e-VRO members Pr. Christelle Guéret (Univ. Angers), Dr. Jorge E. Mendoza (Polytech Tours), and Dr. Juan G. Villegas (Univ. Antioquia) who co-advied Alejandro during the last 3 years.
